Building things is challenging…

It can be nice. It is nice. But it is hard work.

Building a pool in the backyard… You have to dig a lot at first and take care of so many boulders. then discard the dirt and rocks. before making the rebar structures, laying the pipes, and pouring in the cement. adding tiles when the walls are coated.

Sometimes there are tree roots.
Sometimes you hit a pipe that you didn’t know existed.
Sometimes it rains and you cannot work on it.

There comes times when a contractor doesn’t show up.
There comes times when a contractor messes up and you have to do it again.
There comes times when a massive boulder is shown up where you have to get different tools to take care of it and it stalls the job.

Unfortunately there are also so many people who have never held a shovel, nor have ever seen a house/pool being built, tell you what to do with it.

Some are just self-entitled narcissists who want to control others at any cost.
Some are just in the desperate need of feeling good about themselves.
Some want you to fail in the despise of someone else who is helping in what you are building.
Some want you to fail so there wouldn’t be many choices for the buyer, so they can sell better in that area. (not so uncommon of a real estate tactic unfortunately)
Surely none of them will get a shovel to help, well (or appearing to be well) intended or not.

Building is nice… but not easy, nor simple.
It takes risk, sacrifice, patience, a tremendous willfulness, and of course the realization that you only control what you can control.

You are the one who will live with the consequences of what you’ve decided to do, whether you go broke or barely survive or hit the jackpot.
Most others won’t live those consequences.
